EVENTLOCATION
Motorwerk Berlin is an unconventional event location. It is the symbiosis of opposites: Old industrial architecture meets the most modern infrastructure with a redundant 1 GBit duplex connection. Where electric motors were produced 100 years ago, state-of-the-art events take place today - live streaming of product presentations, fashion shows or e-sports challenges, conferences and meetings with worldwide connections to data centers or corporate headquarters. There are no limits to communication at Motorwerk.
The core of Motorwerk Berlin is the large hall on the ground floor with remarkable proportions. With a length of 90 meters, it covers an area of approx. 2,000 square meters and thus offers ideal framework conditions for concerts, fashion shows, get-togethers, dinners, product presentations, trade fairs and exhibitions.
Motorwerk runs on 100% electricity from renewable sources (own solar cells and hydroelectric power). The CO2 emissions generated by the heating, as well as the CO2 emissions resulting from disposal, are compensated by our partner Atmosfair. Appropriate certificates can be verified. Motorwerk can therefore call itself a CO2-neutral location.
On both sides of the hall there is an outdoor area with a total area of around 4,000 square meters

HISTORY
The listed Motorwerk Berlin was built as the premises of the ZIEHL-ABEGG electricity company, which was founded in 1910 by Emil ZIEHL and Eduard Abegg. During this time of technical breakthrough, Emil Ziehl developed groundbreaking special electric motors, which were manufactured in the former motor production hall from 1921 until the Second World War. This gives today's Motorwerk Berlin its name.
The first airships to cross the ocean were equipped with converters from Ziehl-Abegg. Later, the F.-T. Generators in all Zeppelin airships and Lufthansa aircraft.
